Troubleshooting EPL base Printers & Zebra Print Servers in Non-Windows Environments


The following are basic troubleshooting steps to try when customer can not print to Zebra Print Server connected to AIX, AS/400, Unix, and other non-Windows platforms.**

1. Verify printer is working. Does printer print self test?

        If yes, continue to step 2.

        If no, trouble shoot specific printer's hardware.

2. Does Printer Print test from FTP.

        If yes, you have just proved everything is working.  Verify you are sending valid EPL2 to printer.

        If no, move to troubleshooting  network connectivity.

3. To check for valid EPL. Put printer into Dump Mode, send print job from host.  

Note:  There are no drivers available for AIX, AS/400, Unix, and other non-Windows platforms.  Customers must have application that outputs ASCII text EPL2.
