Items to note:

• The printer's LCD menu item "HOST PORT", or "PARALLEL COMM" (depends on printer model) must be set to twinax/COAX to function correctly.
• The printer only responds to ZPL. All label formats must contain data in the form of ZPL.
• The EBCDIC Logical Not "¬" will be translated to an ASCII carrot "^" by the Zebra Twinax interface.
• The Twinax cable length must not exceed 5280 ft. and have no more than 11 junctions.
• If you are using a passive (un-powered) star panel attachment of over 3 devices may result in communications problems.
• Use of twisted pair line requires that baluns be used on both ends of the twist pair line to properly match the line impedance.
• Setting Switch 1 to "Early Print Complete" provides the fastest throughput.

Space Compression

There may be instances where the printer is receiving unwanted spaces in the data or missing spaces when they are expected. This errant response may be due to Space Compression and undesired or desired responses to this capability. The Twinax option has the ability to turn compression on or off based on a strap setting on the twinax board.

Removing the jumper on the Twinax board will enable space compression interpretation. The strap is installed by default disabling space compression response at position LD1 on the pin post. (shorting the left most pins).
