Adding local Port in ZebraNet Bridge

Discussions:

ZebraNet Bridge Enterprise can support Zebra printers that are connected to a PC locally.

Note:  The local port must be available on the PC before attempting to add in ZebraNet Bridge. If you have a printer driver or software application using a local port, that port will not be available in the drop-down list. A message will display in a dialog box that notifies you of any unavailable ports.

Facts:

Printers connected to a local port on the PC have to be manually added.  Supported ports are:

Parallel (LPT), Serial (COM), and USB.

Details:

To add a printer use a local port:

1. In the Group Management window, right click Groups and select New - Printer.

2. The Add Printer Wizard will start.

3. Select Local Port (COM, LPT, USB, etc), and click Next.

4. Select the port you want to use from the drop down list.

5. If COM port was selected be sure to match the settings on the printer.

Note:  The printer status icon for local printers is not updated with the heartbeat interval.
