XML-Formats 10/29/2007 This file contains a set of example XML, ZPL and ZebraDesigner for XML sample files that can be used to demonstrate the XML-Enabled printing capabilities of Zebra Technologies printers. NOTE: Zebra printers using firmware versions v60.15.7Z and v53.15.7Z and later support XML-Enabled printing by default. For more information about XML-Enabled printing, visit www.zebra.com/xml. At that site you will find a User Guide, plus additional materials on XML-Enabled printing. The files contained in this package are for use on XML-Enabled printers. There are three types of files: .zpl files - These are the ZPL versions of the formats .xml files - These are the XML data streams that can be used to recall and print the corresponding .zpl formats. .lbl files - These are the ZebraDesigner for XML versions of the format The files can be used in the following way - 1). Identify the file you want to try - for example, you might want to try the Location.zpl format. Using either a terminal emulator or a command line function to send the file to the printer (i.e. copy location.zpl lpt1). This will store the format on the printer. 2). Send the corresponding XML format to the printer. If you are testing the Location.zpl format, send the Location.xml file to the printer. The printer will recall the Location format and print it, populating the variable fields with the data in the Location.XML format. Alternately, if you are using the ZebraDesigner for XML label design program, open the Location.lbl file in that program and use it to edit and distribute the format to one or more printers.
