Modifying the Format Prefix

1. FROM DOS (Command Prompt)

 Type EDIT Press ENTER

2. In Blue Screen

*Type ~CC¬¬XA¬JUS¬XZ (this changes the format prefix to AAH)

or

Type ~CC^^XA^JUS^XZ (this changes the format prefix to 5EH)

* Note: To get the ¬ ( Logical not character ) to pop up, hold the ALT key and type 170 from the keypad on the right hand side of the keyboard then release the ALT key.

3. Click on File and Save As and save the file as 1.ZPL  (Remember what directory the file is saved in)

4. Exit into DOS by clicking on File then Exit.

 

Communicating Via LPT1:

  1. Open a DOS Window


  2. Navigate to the directory you have saved the file 1.ZPL
  3. At the DOS prompt type COPY 1.ZPL LPT1: <enter>
  4. Verify that data light flashes.
  5. Verify 'format prefix' has changed on printer configuration label.

 

 Communicating via COM1 or COM2

  1. Open a DOS window


  2. Navigate to the directory you have saved the file 1.ZPL
  3. At the DOS prompt type MODE COMx:9600,n.8,1 <enter> Where x = 1 or 2
  4. Type COPY 1.ZPL COMx:
  5. Verify that data light flashes.
  6. Verify 'format prefix' has changed on printer configuration label.
