Printer connected to a COM Port

From the DOS (or COMMAND) Prompt: *

FIRST: Type: MODE COM1 9600,N,8,1

* Change Com Port, Baud Rate, Parity, Data Bits, Stop Bits to match the printer's connection and settings.

From the DOS (or COMMAND) Prompt:

FIRST: Type: EDIT

NEXT: Type:

! 0 200 200 240 1
T 0 0 187 88 TEST PRINT
FORM
PRINT
 

NEXT: File/Save As ZEBRA.TXT

THEN: File/Exit

From the DOS (or COMMAND) Prompt:

LAST: Type: COPY ZEBRA.TXT COM1

FTP File Transfer Protocol from DOS

1.)    Go to a DOS prompt and change to the directory where the test file is stored.

2.)    From the DOS prompt Type: ftp <space> <ip address of the destination printer > <enter>

3.)      Press <enter>  again.

4.)      You will then see the FTP prompt:   FTP>

5.)      Type: put <space> <filename> <enter>

The file is now sent to its destination.

Example:

put zebra.txt <enter>

Note: This allows you to copy a file from DOS, to a printer on your network.

Note:  FTP is case sensitive, use lower case.
