This document discusses general battery maintenance and care information associated with the Lithium Ion batteries used in the above printers.


Details

Typical Cautions

  • When the battery is worn out, insulate the terminals with tape before disposal
  • Immediately discontinue the use of the battery if, while using, or storing the battery, the battery emits an unusual smell, feels hot, changes color, changes shape, or appears abnormal in any way.

  • Do not place the packs in microwave ovens, high pressure container, or induction cookware
  • In the event the pack leaks and the fluid gets into one's eye, do not rub the eye. Rinse well with water and immediately seek medical care.
  • Do not charge the battery when the temperature exceeds 45° C (113° F).
  • Do not store the battery at temperatures exceeding 60° C (140° F).

Good Practices

  • When in use ensure that the battery pack is locked into the printer
  • Store batteries at 25° C (77° F) at 30 - 50% of charge.
  • Charge when the battery is not in use

Typical Warnings

  • Do not place in fire or heat the battery
  • Do not store or charge the battery in direct sunlight
  • Do not install with polarity reversed
  • Do not short the battery across the terminals
  • Do not store or carry packs with metal objects
  • Do not pierce the pack with nails, hit with a hammer, or otherwise make strong impacts
  • Do not solder directly to the pack
  • Do not expose to water, or salt water, or allow it to get wet
  • When charging, use the specified charger
    - Zebra single charger P/N AT15759 or Zebra Quad Charger P/N AT16305
  • Do not discharge the battery using any device except the printer the pack was designed for.
