Print Position: LP/TLP2844

Discussions on printer calibration, the process of getting the printer to place the image correctly on the label. Issues such as skipping labels or printing across labels are discussed along with media specifications. My printer prints on a label then skips a label then prints the next, or it prints across two labels, why? Either the printer was not calibrated to this label size or your software is set up for the wrong size label.  Determine if the printer will function correctly when disconnected from the data source. Disconnect the communications and run a calibration. (Click here for calibration procedure.) Once completed see if the printer will feed a single label when you press the feed key. If successful then try printing from your application. If the problem has returned check your application/software settings since they can overwrite printer settings. The most common mistakes are selecting continuous media in the software when you are using non-continuous gap or mark media. How can I move the image up or down? You should make adjustment to your software first as software settings will always over-ride the printer settings. Check with your application specialist for assistance.   My printer is not feeding the label out far enough to tear it off properly. How can I adjust this setting? This adjustment is the offset adjustment. You should make adjustment to your software first as software settings will always over-ride the printer settings. If your software won't adjust the position up or down then you can move the label in or out using EPL. You should make adjustment to your software first as software settings will always over-ride the printer settings. Look for a margin adjustment and a page size adjustment. If your software won't adjust the image to the left or right, then you can move the image using the printer programming language (EPL) by increasing or decreasing the page size.
