Client Access Zebra printer set-up.

This was obtained from a customer as an example set-up for their system. This should be viewed as an example only.

1 Create a Windows 95/98/NT printer. Use the driver for Generic/Text only printer. Set it up for whatever port (LPT1: or LPT2:). That's it for the windows printer configurations.

2. Hopefully the user is using Personal Communications for the emulation (Client access is for the connection only). When setting up the configuration for the printer use the following:

• Make sure the Transform Print Data to ASCII on AS/400 is checked.
• Printer model should be set to IBM 4212 page writer or "Other" if available
• Drawer 1 = Continuous form 13.2 inches
• Drawer 2 = none
• Envelope hopper = none
• Make sure the Printer support ASCII code page 899 is not checked. (Some debate whether this should be checked or not. It may be application dependent....If you have a problem with printer response try checking this.)
• Make Customization object = QWPDEFAULT
• Make Library = *LIBL
  

3. After these changes are made, be sure to remove the original device description from the virtual controller on the AS/400, and then try to reconnect. The new device description should auto create.
